This is a good story updating the progress of Southern Co.’s construction of nuclear reactors. Most significantly, 1,300 people are working on this job and the company doesn’t even have its final COLA (Combined Operating Licence) finished yet. This is strong, ongoing proof that nuclear plant construction puts people to work.

Need Jobs And Tax Revenue? Build Nuclear Power Power Plants, Says CEO of Alternate Energy Holdings September 4, 2010

BOISE, Idaho, Sep 3, 2010 — Today’s jobs report from the U.S. Dept. of Labor continues to highlight the need for U.S private sector job growth.

“But there is an excellent way to create millions of high-paying jobs,” says Don Gillispie, CEO of Alternate Energy Holdings, Inc. (OTCQB:AEHI) (www.aehipower.com), “Build new nuclear plants.”

Gillispie has the experience and numbers to back up his statement. He is a 45-year veteran of the nuclear industry. Now his company is on track to build two big plants in Payette County, Idaho. He expects approval from the county and state by the end of the year.

The plants will take about five years to build, directly employing more than 5,000 workers during that time. And since nuclear plants need hundreds of thousands of tons of concrete, more than 30,000 tons of steel, and countless specialized parts from a giant chain of suppliers, the total number of jobs created by the plants will actually be in the tens of thousands.

Now imagine ten or so such projects around the country, says Gillispie. “That would create close to a million jobs.” Nuclear power could singlehandedly make a sizable dent in the nation’s unemployment rate, dropping it below 9%. “The nuclear industry is the greatest job creator we have in the country today,” says Gillispie. After construction is finished, new dual unit plants would offer about 1,000 permanent well-paying jobs per project with another 2,000 or so indirect jobs.

The nation as a whole benefits from the increased number of workers earning wages and paying taxes. And in the regions where new plants are built, the economic impacts would be enormous. Payette County, for instance, now has an unemployment rate higher than Idaho’s average and faces a budget shortfall of $500,000. If construction goes forward, Gillispie’s plants will drop the unemployment rate to one of the lowest in the country, and add $100 million per year to county tax revenue. The project will also bring billions to the state of Idaho. “It will be huge boon to the area–and to the country,” says Gillispie.

Building nuclear plants brings benefits over and beyond new jobs. The industry produces reliable and clean electricity, without the threat of pollution, oil spills, and other environmental damage.

But today’s job report is another sobering reminder of how long lasting the economic crisis has become–and how valuable the nuclear industry can be to pulling the nation out of its slump.

BOISE, Idaho, Sep 2, 2010 — The Payette Chamber of Commerce today announced its official endorsement of Alternate Energy Holdings, Inc. (OTCQB:AEHI) and the company’s plan to build a nuclear power plant in Payette County, Idaho.

Over the past year the Chamber and its members have become keenly aware of AEHI and of how the company’s endeavors will enhance and improve business and job opportunities in Payette County.

“Nuclear power has proven itself as one of the safest, cleanest and most reliable sources of energy in the world. It is also a tremendous source for jobs, something we desperately need in Payette County. Our unemployment rate currently surpasses the state average and AEHI’s proposal would bring thousands of new jobs into our community — high paying positions that will increase employment opportunities even outside the power plant,” said Shelley Creson, Executive Director of the Payette Chamber of Commerce.

“A business like AEHI is exactly what we need in Payette and by extension Payette County. It is the same reason I put my support behind this company. In my opinion, AEHI’s leadership is steeped in nuclear power, with people who spent their entire careers in the nuclear industry. They have built and maintained power plants around the nation and I look forward to them bringing that same success to our community. As they succeed, so will our county and the people who live in it,” said Jeff Williams, Chamber member and Mayor of Payette.

The Chamber and its members are confident in AEHI’s success and look forward to the local approval process, which the Chamber believes will result in a positive result for the company, its shareholders and the people who live in Payette County.

AEHI joined the Payette Chamber of Commerce in early 2010 and has remained an active member since that time.

AEHI Reports Progress Toward Local Approval of Nuclear Power Plant and Strong International Interest in Green World Water(TM) Nuclear Desalinization Reactor

BOISE, IDAHO – August 19, 2010 – Alternate Energy Holdings, Inc. (OTCQB:AEHI); http://www.aehipower.com), an independent developer of large-scale nuclear and green energy projects including nuclear power plants and nuclear desalination reactors, today provided an update on its key projects including growing international interest in its Green World Water™(GWW) (www.greenworld-h2o.com) nuclear desalinization reactors.

GWW systems are designed to satisfy U.S. safety design standards and intended initially for non-U.S. buyers around the world with a need for large volumes of affordable potable water and electricity.  AEHI has also made tremendous strides towards receiving final local approval in Payette, Idaho for its proposed nuclear power plant and is currently working on a build-out of an Energy Neutral™ (www.energyneutralinc.com) subdivision, with the goal of building homes that produce more power than they consume.

AEHI CEO, Don Gillispie stated, “We have reached a number of key milestones in just the last six months, which put us on track of attaining our corporate goals of building a nuclear power plant in Idaho and selling what we believe will be the world’s first commercially available nuclear desalination system.”

•    In May this year, Payette County Commissioners approved a key change to the county’s comprehensive plan, which allows for an industrial complex on a 5,000 acre parcel under the precondition that the industrial use involve a nuclear power plant.
•    In July, AEHI filed for final rezone approval and AEHI is confident the approval will come before the end of the year.
•    Application preparations are also underway for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission in advance of the local approval process in Payette County Idaho.
•    Due to rapid progress and strong local support, AEHI dropped a secondary backup site in Elmore County, Idaho, and instead is focusing resources and efforts exclusively in Payette County, where AEHI has located both primary and secondary sites.
•    AEHI subsidiary Green World Water™ announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Tubestar Oil and Gas, on what will be the world’s first commercially available and competitively priced nuclear desalination reactor.  The GWW system can desalt large volumes of water, while producing electricity simultaneously.
•    AEHI expects several more signed GWW MOUs in the coming months and is confident one or more of these MOUs will progress to final contracts before year end.
•    AEHI’s build-out partner on the GWW desalination system is China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), which is the largest state-owned enterprise in China, with the experience and resources to rapidly bring these desalination reactors to market, providing AEHI with an unparalleled first-mover advantage.
•    In mid-June, AEHI signed an MOU with Hyperion Power Generation to license, build and market Hyperion’s refrigerator-sized modular nuclear reactors on a world-wide basis.  The reactor is expected to create international opportunities, while expanding the reach of Green World Water™.
•    In March, AEHI subsidiary, Energy Neutral™ finished building its first home that produces more power than it uses.  Until recently, the home operated as a model home and has now been placed on the market.  Energy Neutral™ is now moving forward on a subdivision in west Boise, Idaho.

Mr. Gillispie concluded, “We remain extremely excited about the outlook for AEHI.  Worldwide sentiment toward nuclear power has changed.  Nuclear has proven itself as the safest, most reliable, cost effective, and scalable form of clean baseload power generation.  Nuclear power has also been proven as an unbeatable method of economic development in the energy sector – an industry that can produce thousands of jobs with very high levels of pay.  As a result of these factors, we are very optimistic AEHI will achieve measurable financial milestones this year and we look forward to keeping our investors apprised of developments as the year progresses.”

Withdraws application in Elmore County

BOISE, IDAHO – August 10, 2010 – Alternate Energy Holdings, Inc. (OTCQB: AEHI),a developer and marketer of innovative clean energy sources based in Eagle, Idaho today announced its plans to move forward exclusively on a proposed nuclear power plant in Payette County, Idaho and, in turn, has withdrawn its zoning application in Elmore County, Idaho.

The company recently selected a new Idaho backup site adjacent to the current site in Payette County to replace the Elmore site. The new backup site is much larger, with superior water rights and transmission rights-of-way when compared with the Elmore site.

“Our plans to permit and ultimately construct a nuclear reactor in Payette have progressed very smoothly, and we have been very pleased with both the pace of local approvals and the level of local support for the project.  In less than a year, Payette County Commissioners approved initial rezoning measures and they are already moving forward on the final application process. Recent hearings have shown support among residents often surpassing 80 percent.  Based on that level of support and pace of local approvals, we decided to focus our time and resources exclusively within Payette County.  We are encouraged by the prospects for final local approval this year or early 2011,” said Don Gillispie, AEHI CEO.

According to a recent study, the proposed plant is expected to create around 5,000 jobs through the construction phase and more than 1,000 jobs during operations. Pay levels for those jobs will average $60,000 and $80,000, respectively.

Revenue for the county and state during the construction phase alone is projected to increase Idaho’s GDP by some $5.3 billion inclusive of $4.8 billion that would flow directly through Payette County.

This morning, I am happy to announce we filed our application in Payette County, Idaho, to rezone land for our proposed nuclear reactor. Below is the news release:

Alternate Energy Holdings, Inc. Enters Final Phase of Approval Required in Idaho for Nuclear Power Plant

Overwhelming Support Expected Based on Prior Unanimous Commissioner’s Vote

BOISE, Idaho, Jun 22, 2010 (GlobeNewswire via COMTEX) — Alternate Energy Holdings, Inc. (OTCQB:AEHI) today announced the company has entered the final stage of gaining local approval to build a nuclear power plant after officially filing a rezone application this morning.

“This is the final step at this level and a major milestone for AEHI because we’ve gotten to this point in a relatively short amount of time. Often this process can drag on for more than a year, and we’ve been able to reach this stage in about six months. I believe it demonstrates the desire Payette County residents have to build a nuclear power plant here,” said Don Gillispie, AEHI CEO.

Recently the Payette County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a county-wide zoning change, which makes this final step possible. The decision to do so was custom-designed for AEHI, because commissioners made the change specifically for a nuclear power plant; meaning the property in question could be rezoned from agricultural to industrial, but only if a nuclear power plant is built there.

“We are excited for the process to move forward and based on our success in previous hearings it shouldn’t be long before we have all the necessary approvals we need to build a nuclear power plant in Idaho. This is something we’ve all been working towards for a long time and to see our efforts paying off is a tremendous blessing,” said Gillispie.

Prior hearings in Payette County were also met with a groundswell of support from residents. Those who testified in favor of AEHI outnumbered the opposition at least three-to-one during every public meeting. During the last hearing County Commissioners even recognized the statistics, which proved a consistent level of support that in some cases surpassed 80 percent.

“People want this plant, the numbers prove it. It is interesting that our local support seems to match, and even surpass the national average of those who say ‘we need more nuclear power plants in the United States.’ It is the only clean method available of producing baseload power, one that will also provide the jobs and revenue we desperately need as a country,” said Gillispie.

During construction the Payette County Plant, also called the Idaho Energy Complex, is expected to bring $5.3 billion to Idaho, which is about 10 percent of the State’s gross domestic product. The project will create more than 5,000 jobs, which average $60,000 during construction and $80,000 during operations.

“We continue to make rapid progress on our plans to permit and construct a nuclear reactor in Idaho, through our Idaho Energy Complex (IEC) subsidiary,” said Don Gillispie, AEHI CEO. “Most recently, in May 2010, the Payette County, Idaho Board of Commissioners unanimously approved changes to the county’s comprehensive plan in order to allow development of a nuclear power plant at our site, and we expect final local approvals in 2010. Additionally, in April 2010, at our backup site in Elmore County, the Planning and Zoning Commissioners officially approved a change to the county’s comprehensive plan that paves the way for final approval of AEHI’s proposed nuclear power plant by the Board of Commissioners expected later this year. These two milestones illustrate the broad public acceptance and support for our projects.

“At the same time, we are making progress on a number of additional fronts. Most recently, we announced a major agreement earlier this week with CNNC to produce and market nuclear desalinization reactors internationally. We are already in discussion with several countries in need of clean, potable water as well as the ability to generate affordable and sustainable ‘green’ energy. Last month, we signed an agreement to work with DSIC EM to qualify and market various large-sized manufacturing components for use in the international energy industry.

“We also completed construction of the company’s first Energy Neutral home, a radical departure from traditional building techniques because it was designed and built specifically to be energy neutral yet at a total cost that is both affordable and comparable to that of traditional building. Our Energy Neutral model home is generating significant media attention as well as franchisee interest from both residential and commercial builders locally and around the nation. Our Energy Neutral business could quickly become a source of revenue and cash flow for us as we pursue our broader initiatives.

“Overall, we are extremely excited about the outlook for the business and believe the future for AEHI is brighter than ever. Although the domestic U.S. nuclear industry has been long dormant, our experience and early lead combine to create a powerful competitive advantage in this rapidly reemerging market that will enable us to exploit growth trends in coming years. Moreover, our unique positioning as a deregulated nuclear plant that can take full advantage of market pricing for energy means we have the ability to generate very attractive rates of return from this investment. The coming resurgence in the industry’s prospects is best evidenced by the additional loan guarantees and strong support for nuclear development by the current Administration in Washington. Moreover, we have a strong international foothold as evidenced by our partnerships in China and elsewhere. These strategic relationships provide further validation of our market leadership and help to establish a foundation for long-term growth,” concluded Gillispie.

Elmore County P&Z votes to change comprehensive plan
AEHI plan to build nuclear power plant continues to move forward Mountain Home, Idaho

Alternate Energy Holdings, Inc. (AEHI:OB) – During a hearing Wednesday night, Elmore County Planning and Zoning Commissioners decided to recommend a change to the wording of the county’s comprehensive plan. The current plan requires industrial development to locate along Simco Road, which was a sticking point for a plan by Alternate Energy Holdings to build a nuclear power plant in another part of the county.

“This latest decision keeps the door open for a possible nuclear power plant in Elmore County and I believe it reflects the commissioners continued desire to keep our project in play. While AEHI’s Payette County site is currently the lead location in Idaho, we also welcome the news that Elmore County is taking such steps to increase the possibility for more economic development,” said Don Gillispie, AEHI CEO.

During the meeting a nuclear power opponent requested the commissioners change the wording of the comprehensive plan in a way that would close the door to a nuclear power plant, which the commissioners refused.

The planned changes include expanding light industrial into areas of city impact and expanding heavy industrial into areas that “will not be detrimental to neighboring and existing land uses”. Those changes will be signed April 21st, after which they will go before the Board of County Commissioners for final approval.

Nuclear power has been recognized as a vital method to increase econimic viability especially in rural communities like those proposed in Elmore and Payette counties. AEHI’s project is estimated to increase employment by more than 5,000 workers through construction, and more than 1,000 during operations. The commercial benefit during construction is even more impressive, increasing the state’s GDP by $5.8 billion, with $4.3 billion of that money filtering directly through the county.

Nuclear Regulatory Commission recognizes AEHI project in Payette

Eagle, Idaho: Alternate Energy Holdings, Inc. (AEHI:OB) – The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has officially recongnized AEHI’s proposal to build a nuclear power plant in Payette County, Idaho.

“This is something we’ve been waiting for the NRC to do for quite sometime,” said Don Gillispie, CEO of AEHI, “Until now the agency has had our Idaho project site listed in Hammett, which has needed correcting for several months.”

AEHI’s listing with the NRC can be viewed on the agency’s list of “New Reactor Licensing Applications”, which can be found on the NRC website at http://www.nrc.gov/reactors/new-reactors/new-licensing-files/new-rx-licensing-app-legend.pdf.

The project remains a very highly anticipated proposition for people living in and around Payette County. According to a recent study, the project will introduce $5.3 billion dollars into the Idaho economy, through construction, $4.8 billion of that revenue will flow directly into Payette County.

Employment opportunities also remain a high point. An estimated 5,000 jobs will be created through the construction process, and more than a thousand positions will be made available through operations, with average pay hovering around $80,000 a year.
